How to KILL a movie Critic
Like myself Night absolutely hates movie critics, and in Lady in the Water he does a nod to Spielberg in Jurassic Park creating the hated Y2 K freak Dennis Nedry and getting his beasties to eat him.

"Never Look Under the Sink"
OMG, OMG OMG even as the fictional character Lester_Burnham_Risen in www
forums it took 2 views of the amazing movie Lady in the Water to get the Night joke in
first scene.
"It's big, it's Hairy, you don't want to look at it". And those screaming are the 5 girls ... and the penny did not drop.
It is simply MY dick, even after my death, which is trying to escape from the Mason Jar under the sink.
This Night bloke is a genius, and he has put this up front in movie [instead of a crass "Look Closer" sign] to say Bette Davis wise "fasten your seatbelts, we're in for a bumpy night" once again, as Night explores the American Beauty.

This is a great nod to the movie American Beauty - sorta like a CSI of unfinished business, ie the cardboard cutout fag in American Beauty kills Lester, just as he thought he has overcome all his demons, but everyone had forgotten that his lovely wife had left his dick in a mason jar under the sink, as everyone IN the Beauty watching the film was mesmerized by the Ellen Degenerate [sic] closet hopping exploits of Col F, who actually had a [Nazi] closet inside his [gun room] closet, so he had closets on overdrive.
